If you were lucky enough to be here on January 9th and managed to navigate any of the beach accesses that were blocked by HUGE plow drifts you might have witnesses a rare and amazing phenomenon here on LBI. The beach had quite alot of snow pack right up the water’s edge and the waves were washing into it as the tide rose. HERE’S a link to a video of that day.
And in an update on the single use plastic bag ban issue, Long Beach Township has adopted an ordinance against using single use plastic bags starting May 1st. Every LBT home will be receiving 2 re-useable bags to get started. Why BYOBag? Because canvas bags packs groceries more efficiently, makes less waste & reduces litter. Because it is the right thing to do! It is time to create a new recycling culture. One that is about sustainability & re-usability. So please don’t forget your canvas if you plan to shop anywhere in LBT.
