January 4th was a doozy! Important reminder here regarding gas meters. It’s important to keep your natural gas meter clear of snow and ice buildup.
The gas pressure vent on your meter needs to be kept clear to avoid the potential for dangerous indoor natural gas buildup. The vent can become plugged when ice and snow melt during the day and refreeze at night.
Stay safe during and after the storm. If you suspect a gas leak, leave the area and call the gas leak hotline at 800-582-7060. Remember, this number is for gas leaks only.
