There is an interesting new site as you enter LBI. Just to the south of Rt 72 on the east side of the big causeway bridge you can plainly see a structure which supports an igloo looking doghouse. It’s there for a couple of peregrine falcons to nest in. Read the full story HERE in The Sandpaper.
Along with the peregrine falcons there has been a snowy owl or two sited in Holgate in the wildlife refuge.
Along with the sites of the former State Room and the vacant Exxon gas station at the circle, the Drifting Sands Motel on the oceanfront block at Eighth Street will be undergoing changes.
