…from the Surf City Taxpayers Association Board for a great summer season here in Surf City!! As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the SCTA, we hope everyone had a marvelous summer in our little slice of paradise!
Board members who were present for the celebration included, from left to right: Pete Williams, Susanne Gilbert, Jean Daniels, volunteer (and webmaster) Marc Halikas, Rosemary Fallar, Bob Lieber, Chuck Edwards, Tony Gasparro.
This summer, with the sun, surf, and sand, Surf City was the place to be!
And how lucky were we to escape from Hurricane Hermine?! Just some rough surf and winds were all we had to endure.
Undeterred by a rain delay, 99 golfers participated in the Surf City Taxpayers Mini Golf Tournament August 10th at Island Golf. The top of the leader board was very close in all three of the age brackets. The prize money for the tournament was graciously donated by the Surf City 5 & 10.

Ages 9 -15

Lots going on in Surf City this week. The new siren was installed and tested successfully at the firehouse. We had a strong thunderstorm pass through right at sunset and it yielded a spectacular rainbow. And the Farmer’s Market was a sight full of vendors and shoppers happily going about their business.

Ages 8 and under age group- John Ligouri won his category by posting a two under par 40. That is a significant achievement for the youngster !
Ages 9-15 – 1st and 3rd place was won by Julian Thomas. Julian, a Delaware native, shot a 33 to win the division. Watch out for him next year when he competes in the Senior Division
