Also early dolphin sightings have been reported over the weekend. Seems even the colder water temps of spring have not kept the warm blooded sea mammals away.

Frozen Pipes and Windy Days

There have been quite a lot of frozen pipes being discovered this spring as residents return to their summer homes after the brutally cold winter and turn the water on. If you have a pipe that burst and can’t find the shut off at the curb, Surf City township workers will help you in locating the water main to the house. This property was problematic for a while and multiple attempts were made to locate the shut off. Finally with perseverance it was located successfully and the water was shut off.

Township worker locates water main to house and successfully shuts the water off.

If you were lucky enough to be at in Surf City on Easter weekend and got to the beach you were able to witness the beautiful cloud cover, waves, and surfers enjoying the warm weather on Saturday.

Frozen Bay Walk Articles and Sunset Video

In mid February Surf City local Mark Temme braved a walk across the frozen Barnegat Bay. There was some controversy as to the safety and legality of this brave venture.  Here are links to the articles in The Sandpaper.

Frozen Bay Crossings, Placard Mailings, House Explosion, And Sunsets.

Mixed bag of stuff this week.

Coldest February in a long time has had the bay frozen solid and Surf City local Mark Temme braved the elements and crossed it on foot on Feb 21st. He had a PFD on under his jacket, with an ice pick just in case. It was SOLID!

Emergency placards for re-entry to LBI have been mailed and should already be in homeowners possession.

A home that was being worked on in Stafford Twp had a reported gas leak at around 10AM on Feb 24th.  The home exploded w/emergency workers on site. It was a miracle no one was killed. Link to story and video here-
