It was standing room on Saturday June 25th as newly elected Mayor Francis Hodgson delivered his first “State of the Town Address” at Borough Hall. Over 100 taxpayers were in attendance to hear the Mayor and get their questions answered. And a special thanks goes out to Baked on the Beach for providing the excellent baked good that were enjoyed by all.

The topics ranged from street repaving schedules to elementary school consolidation to reconsidering the ban on outside dining at town restaurants. The Mayor also continued the tradition started by previous Mayor Connors of presenting a budget and tax comparison of Surf City to Ship Bottom and Beach Haven. Borough Hall was filled to capacity to hear Mayor Hodgson.

Taxpayers in attendance were given a copy of a budget and tax comparison between Surf City and Ship Bottom and Beach Haven. A copy of this document is at the bottom of this post.

The Surf City Taxpayers Association outgoing President Ron Bergondo gives Mayor Hodgson a congratulatory gift of the Surf City flag, created, produced and sold by the Association (it is available for purchase at Anchor Wine and Spirits).
